Municipal waste incineration technology is being studied in Indonesia to find ways to reduce waste volume and use it for energy. Three main technologies were evaluated: incineration, conventional air gasification, and plasma gasification. While none of them met environmental standards due to high CO2 emissions, conventional air gasification and plasma gasification were found to be economically feasible.
