Guatemalan Young Adults Shift from Agriculture to Wage Labor for Income.
The study looked at the work activities and income of young adults in Guatemala who were part of a nutrition trial as children. Most men now work for wages, unlike their fathers. Women are more likely to have income-generating activities than their mothers. People move in and out of their own businesses. In Guatemala City, many women work for wages, while in other areas, non-farm businesses are common. Agriculture is not the main job for most men and women.
