Coastal inlet relocation driven by wave energy, challenging traditional interpretations.
The study looked at how waves affect a coastal lagoon in Morocco. They found that the movement of the inlet is mainly influenced by the direction of the waves, not the overall sediment transport. This is because the waves lose energy differently on each side of the inlet. This shows that just looking at the shape of the coast might not tell us everything about how the water moves.
