German corporate tax cuts lead to lower wages for skilled workers.
The study looked at how local business taxes in Germany affect wages. They used data from over 11,000 municipalities and 11 years to see how changes in tax rates impacted wages. They found that when business taxes go up by one euro, wages go down by 50 cents. This affects both high- and medium-skilled workers. The study also showed that overall, the impact on wages due to taxes is not very significant because people can easily move to find better-paying jobs.
