Laser cleaving was used to cut glass more efficiently and with better quality. A new method using two types of lasers was tested on soda-lime glass. By heating the glass with one laser and then cutting it with another, the stress on the glass was analyzed. The results showed that this method created a clean cut on the glass due to increased shear stress inside the glass.
