The focus of the article is on designing new trains for the year 2045 with an emphasis on increasing capacity, comfort, and efficiency. Longer trains are suggested to free up track space and reduce pollution. Electric trains are found to be more reliable than diesel ones. The proposed 2045 train should have more vehicles, be comfortable, use electric/hybrid power, be ultra-reliable, environmentally friendly, require minimal maintenance, have advanced control technology, and follow a single design concept.
