The article analyzed different types of highway crashes to understand their causes and potential solutions. The study looked at rear-end, roadway departure, backing, lane change, opposite-direction, and intersection-related crashes. It identified common factors contributing to these crashes and organized them into categories. Some factors may not be preventable by crash avoidance systems, affecting the effectiveness of safety measures. The research aims to improve road safety by addressing these key factors in crash prevention strategies.
