Land-use planning faces decline in influence due to funding shortages.
The Academy of Land-Use Research and State Planning discussed the challenges of land-use planning and transport policy. They found that there has been limited success in land-use planning due to funding shortages, leading to decreased influence in the future. Criticisms were made about the tools used in regional planning. The study group also talked about issues with public transport in cities and rural areas, but the knowledge gained was disappointing. Too much focus was placed on minor issues, neglecting important problems like how to prioritize needs when money is tight.
