Strong winds below 150m largely determined by mechanical turbulence, neglecting heat.
Wind behavior below 150 meters is mainly influenced by pressure and turbulence. Strong winds are mostly affected by mechanical turbulence rather than heat convection. The distribution of wind over flat terrain in strong winds, the impact of stability on wind patterns, and the change in wind speed when transitioning from rough to smooth terrain are discussed. Wind variability and the relationship between wind speeds at different locations are also explored.
