Hybrid cars poised to transform urban transportation, slashing emissions and costs.
To make cars cleaner and more efficient, researchers designed a hybrid drive system combining electric and gas engines. This technology aims to reduce fuel use and emissions. The Institute of Automotive Technology at the Technical University in Aachen created a hybrid car called the ika-Hybrid II, focusing on cost-effective manufacturing using standard parts. Tests showed the hybrid car worked well both in the laboratory and on the road, traveling 5000 km without major issues. This hybrid system can run emission-free in cities and overcomes the limitations of electric cars, making it a promising solution for environmentally friendly and efficient transportation.
