High peak demands in the Australian electricity market lead to volatile prices. To address this, a scheme was developed to help consumers manage their electricity usage based on information from the Australian Energy Market Operator. By moderating their demand, consumers can reduce peak demands, lower prices, improve quality, and lessen negative environmental impacts. This scheme aims to create a Smart Grid environment by enhancing system performance through effective energy demand management.
