Optimum sowing time boosts wheat yield and profits by 25%!
A study was done to see how different planting times, seed rates, and nitrogen fertilizer amounts affect the yield and profit of dual-purpose wheat. Wheat planted in October gave more green fodder and profit compared to November planting. Cutting the crop for green fodder reduced grain yield, but adding extra nitrogen and seeds helped offset this. The best results were seen in crops cut for green fodder with additional seeds and nitrogen, which had high green fodder yield and profit similar to uncut crops. Overall, planting in October and using specific cutting and fertilizing methods can improve both green fodder yield and profit in dual-purpose wheat.
