Fuel-Efficient Vehicles of the Future: Automatic Transmissions Outperform Manual Ones
The research car Uni-Car was tested to see how well its engine and transmission work together to save fuel. The car uses a special type of transmission called continuously variable transmission (cvt) with automatic control, which helps it use fuel more efficiently than cars with manual transmissions. The tests showed that the Uni-Car with cvt and automatic control is better at saving fuel compared to cars with manual transmissions.
