Boosting Green Chilli Growth and Quality While Saving 25% Fertilizer
The researchers found that using biological nitrogen fixers like Azotobacter and Azospirillum on green chilli plants increased growth, yield, and quality. Azospirillum worked better than Azotobacter, and using both together had a synergistic effect. By combining these biofertilizers with N-fertilizer and farmyard manure, they achieved the best results with no significant difference when reducing N-fertilizer by 25%. This approach saved nitrogenous fertilizer and increased plant nutrients, leaf chlorophyll, and soil nutrients. Overall, the dual inoculation with biological nitrogen fixers improved the growth, yield, and quality of green chilli plants in the West Bengal region.
