Organic fertilizers boost cabbage yield and quality for healthier diets.
The study looked at how different organic fertilizers and biofertilizers affect the growth and quality of cabbage. They found that using certain combinations of organic manures and biofertilizers led to higher cabbage yields and improved quality traits like carbohydrate, protein, fiber, carotenoid, and ascorbic acid content. Specifically, treatments with recommended fertilizers and seedling inoculation in biofertilizers resulted in higher dry matter in leaves, more non-wrapper leaves, and increased head yield. Organic manures like vermicompost and pressmud, along with biofertilizers like Azospirillum or PSM, were particularly effective in improving cabbage quality.
