The study looked at how different axle arrangements and loads on a tractor/semitrailer affect its stability and control. They tested five- and six-axle vehicles with various loading scenarios. The results showed that changing the trailer's axle arrangement, suspension type, tire type, and axle loading level can impact the vehicle's safety-related dynamic performance.
