The article talks about how Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) impact Japan's economy. Many methods have been used to measure this impact, like econometric tools or operations research. In this paper, a Computable General Equilibrium (CGE) model was used to study the effect of ITS on Japan. The goal was to show how CGE models, even to non-specialists, can be handy for understanding the impact of ITS. The model helps in analyzing how these smart transportation systems influence Japan's economy.
