Revolutionary Urban Expressway Design in Nagoya Reduces Noise Pollution
An urban expressway was built above wide streets in Nagoya using a Y-shaped double-deck structure with noise-reducing box girders. The foundations, traffic flow alterations, and girder erection process were detailed. Girders were lifted to 28m using rolling-up jacks. A single deck branch was also constructed with girder and foundation structures, and underground sludge tanks. Girders were placed using setting beams.
