Outdated stormwater management practices intensifying downstream urban water quality issues.
Urban stormwater management is changing to focus on water quality. Traditional methods of quickly getting rid of stormwater are causing downstream issues. Cities are now using storage to slow down runoff, which requires new hydrology methods. Water treatment is also a priority. New technology uses mathematical models to simulate runoff, but these models need to be calibrated with real data. Time-related rainfall and runoff data are lacking.
