New Study Reveals Heavy Trucks Cause $21 Billion in Annual Costs
The report discusses different situations where heavy trucks are involved in crashes and how communication between vehicles can help prevent them. The researchers looked at data from crash databases to identify 17 common scenarios. They found that these scenarios led to around 233,000 crashes each year, costing about $21 billion and causing 153,000 years of lost productivity. The study showed that the drivers of heavy trucks were responsible for 57% of these crashes.
