A new machine called the ReForester has been created to plant three rows of seedlings at once, while moving over logging debris. The goal was to develop a way to plant seedlings more efficiently and effectively. The researchers used injection molding to create a special container, called a planting bullet, that helps preserve the seedlings' health during planting. This method prevents root damage and allows for proper root growth. The process evolved from manual planting to automatic injection machines, and now to a self-propelled planter.
