The World Trade Organization (WTO) agreed on a plan in 2004 to make global agricultural trade fairer. This plan aims to reduce unfair support for farmers, lower trade barriers, and end export subsidies. Negotiations are ongoing to finalize these changes by 2006. The President has asked for more time to consider and implement these trade agreements.
