Aging Workforce Thrives with Tailored Leadership in Public Sector
The study looked at how leadership tailored to different age groups affects the relationship between managers and employees in a public administration setting. By surveying managers and their staff at a government agency, the researchers found a strong link between age-specific leadership and the quality of the working relationship. Most managers displayed age-specific leadership behaviors, influenced by factors like age and experience. However, organizational rules also played a role in shaping their actions. Gender and unbiased perceptions of older employees did not show a significant connection to age-specific leadership.
