Design dimensions impact willingness to pay for travel time savings.
Stated choice methods are commonly used to study how people make decisions. This study looked at how different aspects of these methods affect how much people are willing to pay for certain things. They found that, overall, the design of the choices didn't have a big impact on people's willingness to pay. However, when looking at specific design features, they did find that the number of options and attributes in a choice set can influence how much people are willing to pay. This information can help in making decisions about things like transportation and project planning.
