The Ekofisk field in the Norwegian sector and Rolls-Royce Avon gas generators in the British sector are major contributors to this trend. New orders have boosted the total gas-turbine power for offshore North Sea activities to over 1.25 million hp and onshore activities to over 123,000 hp. This surge in gas turbine power is crucial for producing oil and gas in the challenging North Sea environment.
