Fly ash from coal combustion can be used as a substitute for cement in concrete. The study compared different types of fly ash and found that Class C fly ash from burning Wyoming coal can effectively replace cement in various construction applications. This means fly ash can be used to make concrete, flowable fills, and stabilize clay soil.
