The lime fixation point greatly affects the strength and compaction of fine-grained soil. Adding lime below the fixation point decreases density and slightly improves strength, while above it, strength increases significantly. The time delay between mixing and compaction is crucial, with different effects seen below, at, and above the fixation point. Moulding water content also plays a role in soil strength.
