New Concrete Code Raises Standards for Construction Site Safety and Quality.
The new German concrete code (Din 1045) sets out specifications for concrete technology, focusing on close-textured concrete. It does not cover prestressed or lightweight concrete. Changes were made to account for new concrete strength classes, production methods, and special concrete properties. Rust-proofing requirements for reinforcement elements and concrete testing were expanded. Only quality-controlled base materials can be used for concrete production, with BII concrete also requiring quality control on construction sites. Details can be found in German Standard Din 1084, page 1.
