Unsustainable Growth in Employment in Spain Linked to Lack of Industrial Production Evolution.
The article examines how different sectors in Spain, Germany, and the USA have evolved in terms of production and income from 1965 to 2010. It shows that Spain saw a rapid increase in employment in construction and services from 1995 to 2007, but this growth was not sustainable due to a lack of balanced industrial production. The economic policies during this period did not promote the necessary increase in real production per person to achieve high employment rates and productivity levels. The study uses econometric models to analyze how industrial development impacts real value-added and employment in each sector.
