Traffic delays are getting worse on US roads. The GLITS I-75 project aims to manage traffic on both freeways and streets together. They tested a system to store traffic data and found it could help make decisions for traffic control. The project tested this system at the Road Commission for Oakland County’s Traffic Operation Center. By linking freeway and street data, they showed it could improve traffic management in the GLITS I-75 project.
