A new traffic control program was set up to help build a section of Interstate Highway in Colorado. It included using pilot cars, radios, coordinated flagging, and a single contract for all traffic control. This program is different from usual methods and has brought benefits to both contractors and drivers. Accidents have decreased a lot, thanks to the safety improvements. The way the program is managed makes it work well, and the costs have been analyzed. This program could be useful for other projects too.
