Toxic VOC emissions from natural gas treater threaten air quality.
The report studied how benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, xylene, and other chemicals are released from a natural gas amine treater. They tested a method to measure these chemicals in the solution used in the treater. Samples were taken from different parts of the treater to see where the chemicals were going. The results showed how much of these chemicals were being released into the air from the treater.
