New high-yield rice variety Yumeizhan revolutionizes rice farming in Guangxi.
A new high-quality and high-yield rice variety called Yumeizhan was developed in Guangxi through selective breeding. It was created from a plant called Fengmeizhan from Guangdong Province. Yumeizhan has shown great characteristics like high and stable yield, good grain quality, strong tillering ability, and wide adaptability. It takes 128 days to grow in the early stage and 110 days in the late stage. This new variety was officially registered and certified in June 2012. Yumeizhan is suitable for planting in double-season rice regions in south and central Guangxi and similar areas in southern China.
