Web services are a popular way to share information online, with SOAP being a common method. The Web Services specifications enhance Web services with features like security. Another type of Web service, RESTful Web services, is not covered by these specifications. This work shows how the HTTP protocol can be expanded using existing specifications to add security features to RESTful Web services.
