A new precast concrete deck system called NUDECK was developed by the Nebraska Department of Roads to improve bridge construction. The goal was to create a system that is easier to fabricate and erect, reducing costs and construction time. NUDECK was successfully used in the Kearney East Bypass project, showing benefits like improved construction quality, less disruption to traffic, potential weight reduction, and lower overall bridge costs.
