Revolutionizing High Speed Rail: Lisbon-Madrid Route to Include Cargo Transport
High speed rail investments in Europe are important, so planning efficiently is crucial. The MATE method, originally from MIT, is being used to analyze the Lisbon-Madrid high speed rail line. This method has been successful in aerospace systems and is now being applied to transportation problems. The study looks at the feasibility of adding cargo to the rail line, using the same trains as passengers. The MATE method is being tested to see if it can handle the complexities of this transportation issue.
