The study compared two methods of planting late-season rice and found that precision hill-direct-seeding resulted in higher yields compared to manual transplanting. The precision method also had more effective panicles and higher seed setting rates. Additionally, the plants had higher chlorophyll content and photosynthetic rates during key growth stages.
