Maryland State Highways Administration uses advanced technology called CHART to monitor traffic and give travel advisories. This system helps keep track of traffic on 550 miles of highways. They are working on a new system called CHART II that will have a main hub in Hanover and local Traffic Operations Centers to improve traffic monitoring even more.
