Cleaner Coal from India's Vast Reserves to Power Economic Growth and Reduce Emissions
The study aimed to clean high-ash coal from India's Ib Valley to meet environmental regulations. Indian coal often contains a lot of impurities making it hard to clean. Researchers tested a method called float-and-sink to see how much clean coal they could get. They wanted to reduce the ash content in the coal to 34%. The results showed that a specific process could be used to make the coal cleaner as required by government rules.
