Smart cities and urban planning are closely connected, with smart city practices influencing urban planning decisions and vice versa. This study examines how smart cities and urban planning interact and identifies common areas between them. The research draws on European Regional Cohesion Policy to understand how urban planning principles can be applied in smart city contexts.
