Innovative Bridge Design Prevents Cracks, Saves on Maintenance Costs!
A bridge in Dallas has a special concrete deck design to prevent cracks. Engineers used tendons in the deck to keep it compressed from two directions, stopping cracks from forming. Even though the bridge cost more to build, it could save money in the long run by needing less maintenance. After 1.5 years of use, there have been no cracks in the bridge deck.
