Australia's LPG supply shortage looms, winter demand at risk by 1989.
The Gippsland fields in Australia produce more LPG than the country needs, exporting the excess to Japan. New producers will also need to export but must also meet local demand. While current LPG supplies seem enough for the next decade, there may be a shortage of propane by 1989 due to high winter demand. To address this, ending subsidies for non-essential propane use and using a propane/butane mix for cars could help improve supply security.
