Using lightweight concrete in bridge construction makes bridges more efficient and cost-effective. The study compares different designs for bridge superstructures, showing that lightweight concrete allows for longer spans and reduces costs. By using lightweight concrete for bridge decks and girders, the overall structural efficiency of bridges is improved. Actual examples of segmental box girder bridges are considered to demonstrate these benefits.
