Fibre composite technology is being used to create innovative bridge girders in Toowoomba, Queensland. This project aims to find new solutions for managing timber bridges, which are a problem for Main Roads and local governments in Australia. The collaboration between Structures Division and Southern District has been successful in developing these new bridge girders.
