Researchers used drones to study fox burrows and vegetation, and surveys to look at fox scat, prey, and predators. They found that habitat occupancy and use can be affected differently by land development, and proximity to development impacts fox habitat. The Habitat Suitability Index didn't match up with their findings, and coyotes negatively impact fox habitat. Water availability from development may indirectly affect foxes. Overall, current knowledge on the impacts of renewable energy development on fox habitat is lacking.
