China Faces Dire Water Crisis as Demand Outpaces Supply, Threatening Sustainability

The water resources are under pressure, affecting productivity and quality. To address this, the study suggests implementing efficient water policies, using conservation methods, recycling water, and replenishing groundwater. It highlights the importance of the South-North Water Transfer project as a key solution. Overall, China needs to adopt a strategy that focuses on managing water according to demand to ensure a sustainable future.
