Dynamic capabilities in small firms develop through a focus on performance, capacity building, higher order learning, managerial purposefulness, and the use of third parties. A study of a small Irish print firm showed that these capabilities emerged as the CEO engaged in learning and utilized their knowledge and networks to identify and exploit new opportunities. This research provides insights into how small businesses can develop and sustain competitive advantages by adapting to changing environments and leveraging their resources effectively.
