Cutting Pollution Loads in Ulsan Bay Vital to Protect Water Quality
The study looked at managing water quality in Ulsan Bay during summer by using a model to see how pollution from land affects the bay. The model showed that cutting down on certain types of pollution by 30% could help keep COD levels in the bay below the limit set by Korean standards. To maintain good water quality, around 3,083kg of organic pollution from land sources needs to be reduced each day. It's important to control nutrient loads from land to prevent phytoplankton blooms in the bay.
