The article discusses the importance of defining terms in Product Data Management (PDM) systems to ensure they work effectively. PDM is still widely used by design engineers for storing and editing drawings, despite the rise of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM). Without clear definitions, these systems may not function properly and users may not fully benefit from them. The focus of the paper is on defining key terms related to PDM/PLM systems and their data.
