Japanese Professional Football League boosts football participation among all ages.
The Japanese Professional Football League (J-league) was created in 1993. A study looked at how this affected people playing football. They found that in areas with a J-League team, more people started playing football after the league began. The J-league had a positive impact on both younger and older people between 1991 and 1996. This positive effect continued and grew for younger people until 2006, but disappeared for older people.
